Sarah stepped into the Surrey Youth Job Search Program and said to her Job Search Counsellor, “I want to work for the Olympics because it would be the best experience of my life!” She attended multiple one-to-one sessions for resume, cover letter, and job search coaching. Sarah also attended Resume/Cover Letter, Interview Skills, and Job Search Workshops. Next she submitted resumes and cover letters for each job application and completed the on-line typing test by utilizing the Passport to Work site. |

In January 2009 Sarah received a phone call from a cooking and catering company involved in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. By the end of the telephone conversation she was hired because the employer ‘liked her attitude’! Sarah was excited and proud when she came in to report the good news the following day. She commenced training/orientation with Sodexo in the end of January 2010 and was excited to report she had an excellent experience eating lunch with the athletes both days. Thanks for making the Vancouver 2010 Olympics a success Sarah!
